My Poker Life

I love playing poker, especially Texas Holdem. I just recently bought poker chips to start our own poker club, just to have an experience in real life. I only play poker on my pocket pc, it’s fun and addicting. I dream of becoming a world poker tour champion, like the ones on TV. Someday I will, with lots of practice and exposure hopefully.

We played two weeks ago, and I lost, but it was fun, was able to buy cheap sets of poker chips in Raon. There’s a tournament this saturday nov19 , but it’s my nephew’s first birthday, so I think I’ll have to miss his first, I just have to make sure to attend his second one, hopefully I can win this sat, so his gift would be much better ;p

Just joined a small tournament last sat at valle verde. Unfortunately, I lost, I’m not use to playing for money, or with money on the line, my strategy doesn’t work, I’m a bit conservative, concerned about the money, than about the game and the fun. No plans of playing that kind of game again, I just want tournament style where in you dont risk actual amount of money and feel more free. In future I guess I just have to learn how to. But it was an experience, and I learned many things, hopefully I keep on learning to be the best I can be. Next sat there’s another tournament, I’ll join and hopefully be in the top 3

Just joined the B n L mall tour poker, in eastwood last sat, I was able to place, which was my goal, so I’m in the finals. its gonna be on dec 10, also at eastwood. Luck was on my side, I won hand on the river. I just waited for my opponents to self destruct and kill each other, until we were three, and I was assured of the slot in the finals. I need to hone my skills in reading , and in bluffing, so 2 weeks to practice practice practice

The finals was held last saturday, I was only able to finish third place again.  I’m very happy with my place, I thought I would be first place, luckily I was able to win the pot when I went all in so thats it.  The winner of the event was joe, a brit, who was very lucky that night, he was helped by the turn and river numerous times.  He got me out with a pocket 5’s , mine was an unsuited king jack.  It was fun and exciting, my friends and family were there to watch and enjoy the free food and drinks.  Unfortunately, there was no trophy for the third place anymore, so I kinda got dissapointed.  I’m trying to collect

There’s an smb poker bar tour in halo n hardrock, I might try that out this week, just to have fun and gain more experience.

November Rain

It november, and it’s still raining of course. They say the strongest typhoons hits us during this times, so expect the worst. But the rain can’t stop the surging spirit of Christimas, with only 40 days to go I think, tiangges are sprouting everywhere around the metro. But I try not to go there, I’m not still in a Christmas mood, maybe a month from now, it will start to affect me. I usually look forward to the Christmas vacation, unfortunately, Chisrtmas and New Years Day will fall on a sunday, so no extended vacation. I already used up half of my VLs, and I’m trying to preserve them for the upcoming summer(still have no idea where to go though), so I think I’ll still be here, working, during the supposed Xmas vacation.

I just wanna sleep for now …

Might go Christmas Shopping this weekend in Divisor, just waiting for the 13th month later.
Spirit of Christmas slowly sinking in:) Just learned that Dec 29 might be a Holiday so, I might plan a getaway, that made my day wohoo

Canon Photo Contest, I’m in!! #36

I submitted my best photos taken with my canon ixus 40 at the canon office last sunday. The guard was the only one there so I was skeptical if it will reach the person in charge. Also, I didn’t follow the rules of resizing your photos and renaming them to the title. And came yesterday, one of my photo made it to the top 100, so guys please vote for it, it’s number 36.

Felt very proud that my photo was there, together with the other awesome pix. Escpecially when people spend time looking and analyzing my picture, I wanted to come over to them and campaign for my pix

Bowling 2005

Everybody was excited for the annual company bowling. I was excited because of the prize, 2500 for best bowler, was hoping to win it for the purpose of having an entrance fee for the upcoming poker tournament in tagaytay. But then came the tournament, and the first game, Isucked big time, my worst performance ever, so I pumped up myself for the second game but still the improvement was minimal. I needed a motivation for the third game, so I made a bet with other team captains for the third game and to no avail , it was worst than the first game. Luckily, we still ended up third place and got to take home 300 bucks, it was suppose to be 400 but I lost the 100 on the bet which Jerick won.

Still, the event was fun, it served its purpose of bringing the people closer and more like a family, the draft beer helped a lot Suddenly the prizes wasn’t so important, the fun , the experience was enough to make everyone feel good. Also, the fight for places was so close and exciting that only 12 pins separated the top 3 teams. I always look forward to the bowling tournament every year not just because I’m good at it, it’s also a time to just relax and forget about work and just have fun which I’m also good at ..
